- What is a Z-Pass?
- Z-Pass is a personal annual or monthly travelcard for travel between the ZVV network area and one or more adjoining regional transport networks or the March region (see area of validity). The Z-Pass allows unlimited travel on nearly all public transport services within the purchased zones.

- Z-Pass is a regional transport network offering travelcards for public transport services in the economic and demographic area of Zurich that has been established as an ordinary partnership. It consists of the following transport companies with support from the corresponding cantons:
- A-Welle regional transport network / Cantons of Aargau / Solothurn
- OSTWIND regional transport network / Cantons of St. Gallen / Thurgau
- FlexTax regional transport network / Canton of Schaffhausen
- Schwyz regional transport network / Canton of Schwyz
- Zurich Transport Network / Canton of Zurich
- Zug regional transport network / Canton of Zug
- Swiss Federal Railways SBB AG
- What are the goals for the Z-Pass?
- Facilitating access to public transport (user-friendly zone-based fares, travelcards valid on all public transport services in the purchased zones)
- Standardisation of fares (one travelcard for everything)
- Simplification of the travelcard options (either zone-based travelcards or General Abonnements)
- Increasing the level of commuter and leisure traffic
- What are the advantages of a Z-Pass?
- One travelcard for everything in the selected zones – train, bus, tram and boat are combined in a single travelcard
- Unlimited access to all routes within the purchased zones
- Family discount is available
- More freedom in the use and selection of public transport services
- Within the purchased zones, unlimited use of InterCity and fast trains for travel across cantonal borders
- Handy-sized credit card format for annual travelcards
- Eliminates complicated and expensive travelcard combinations (such as multiple-journey tickets with a regional travelcard)
- Where do I get a Z-Pass?
- The Z-Pass is available at nearly all staffed train stations and larger points of sale within the Z-Pass network area. For even greater convenience, you can also call the following transport authorities to place orders and receive information by phone:
- Why are the A-Welle and OSTWIND regional transport networks only partially integrated in the Z-Pass?
- The non-integrated areas of the A-Welle and OSTWIND regional transport networks contain connections for which the purchase of a General Abonnement is more advantageous in most cases.
- Can the Z-Pass be combined with Mobility?
- For each Z-Pass annual travelcard, you can receive a separate Mobility Card at a reduced price. Get information and sign up directly with Mobility, tel. 0848 824 812 (CHF 0.08/min. from Swiss landline).
- Do I still need to purchase a night supplement?
- Yes, all supplements for the night trains and night buses are to be paid as usual.
- Is the family discount granted in combination with the Z-Pass?
- Yes, both the Junior travelcard and the Grandchild travelcard are valid in combination with a Z-Pass.
- Can a Z-Pass be deposited?
- No, a Z-Pass cannot be deposited during periods of non-use.
- Are all transport companies participating in the Z-Pass regional transport network?
- Yes, with the exception of the following boat services:
- Evening circular tour and lunch cruises of Zürichsee Schifffahrtsgesellschaft (Lake Zurich)
- Circular tour, evening and lunch cruises of Schifffahrts-Genossenschaft Greifensee
- Schifffahrtgesellschaft Hallwilersee
- Schifffahrtsgesellschaft für den Zugersee AG
- Ägerisee Schifffahrt AG
- Schifffahrtsgesellschaft Untersee und Rhein
- Can I exchange my General Abonnement for a Z-Pass?
- Yes, although you will not be given a pro-rata refund for the General Abonnement. For active General Abonnements, the minimum term of contract of 4 months needs to be maintained.
- Who should I contact if I have further questions?
- Nearly all points of sale of the public transport authorities in the Z-Pass network area are available to advise you.
