The Z-Pass: Going the distance with just one travelcard
The Z-Pass is the ideal travelcard for individuals who travel at least three times a week between the ZVV network area and a neighbouring regional transport network. The Z-Pass is available for four transport network combinations (corridors): A-Welle – ZVV, FlexTax – ZVV, OSTWIND – ZVV, Schwyz/Zug incl. the March region – ZVV.
The Z-Pass:
- Is available as a personal monthly and annual travelcard.
- Is offered for young people under 25 at the advantageous junior fare.
- Comes in 1st or 2nd class for adults, in 2nd class only for young people.
- Is valid on long-distance traffic trains.
- Allows you to make as many journeys as you want within the zones covered by your travelcard on nearly all means of transport. With 10 or more zones (FlexTax – ZVV for 9 zones or more), you can even travel in all the zones of the respective corridor.
- Is especially advantageous as an annual travelcard (in a handy-sized credit card format): You pay for 9 months but travel a full 12.
You can get the Z-Pass if you combine at least one ZVV zone with a zone of a neighbouring transport network. The price depends on the selected number of zones. The cities of Zurich and Winterthur count double in calculating the fare, on account of their higher density of public transport services.
Zone upgrade add-on to the Z-Pass
You can extend the range of your Z-Pass by buying a ticket – national network or regional single ticket – from the last timetabled stop in the zones covered by your Z-Pass to your final destination.
Special ZVV zone upgrade
You can make your Z-Pass go further within the ZVV network by buying an additional ZVV ticket covering the required extra zones. The condition is that the bus, train, tram or boat you use is timetabled to stop at least once in the ZVV zones already covered by your Z-Pass travelcard.
